Hardness of cast steel grits and use of cast steel grits

Different cast steel grits have different hardness. Cast steel grits are made from high carbon steel shot by crushing into grit grains, and then tempering into three different hardness to adapt to different industries. The treated cast steel grits is screened into 10 grades according to SAE standard to meet the needs of sand blasting. Different sizes and hardness are used according to different situations.
Cast Steel Grit for Sandblasting is widely used in the pretreatment of steel workpiece before painting. Most of them are used in sand blasting houses with recycling equipment. The edge and corner shape of cast steel grits and its hardness determine that the cast steel grits can be cleaned up quickly and recovered efficiently at the same time. Cast steel grits is also used for sand cleaning of castings. Sometimes the casting sand will be embedded in the workpiece at high temperature, which exceeds the cleaning capacity of the steel shot. Then it is cast steel grits turn. When cast steel grits is newly manufactured, it is angular. In the process of use, the angular will be quickly rounded.
  1. GP cast steel grits: When this kind of abrasive is newly made, it is sharp-edged, and the edges and corners are quickly rounded in the process of use. It is especially suitable for the pretreatment of removing oxide scale on the surface of steel.
  2. GL cast steel grits: Although the hardness of this kind of cast steel grits is higher than that of GP cast steel grits, it still loses its edges and corners in the process of sand blasting, which is especially suitable for the pretreatment of removing oxide scale on steel surface.
  3. GH scast steel grits: This kind of cast steel grits has a high hardness, and will always keep the edges and corners in the sand blasting operation. It is especially effective for forming regular and hairy surfaces.
