Introduction to Butt Weld Pipe Fitting Elbows

 　　90 Degree Carbon Steel ASME B16.9 Butt Weld Lr Pipe Fitting Elbow is a steel elbow formed by hot pressing or forging, and its connection form is to directly weld the elbow with the steel pipe. A butt welded elbow is made by welding two steel plates together. Generally, this process is used for large diameter elbows, and those with diameters above 600 are mostly butt welded elbows.

　　According to its curvature radius, butt welded elbows can be divided into long radius butt welded elbows and short radius butt welded elbows. The curvature radius of a long radius butt welded elbow is equal to 1.5 times the outer diameter of the pipe, i.e. R=1.5D. The curvature radius of a short radius butt welded elbow is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, i.e. R=1D. In the formula, D is the diameter of the butt welded elbow, and R is the radius of curvature. Unless otherwise specified, a 1.5D elbow is generally used.
